28 / 12 / 10

All the media highlight today his figure as one of the most important journalists on television in Spain.

The ashes of the journalist Luis Mariñas will be moved tomorrow to A Coruña to be scattered in Riazor Beach. Mariñas passed away yesterday in Madrid at the age of 63 when he suffered a heart attack. The funeral chapel will be installed this afternoon in the morgue of Tres Cantos, in Madrid.

All the newspapers, radio and television channels have glossed over the figure of one of the most important journalists on Spanish television in private and public channels. Mariñas chaired the decisive debate between Felipe González and José María Aznar in Telecinco in 1993. After almost 20 years working in Televisión Española, he created and directed Telecinco News in 1990.

His last work in front of the camera was the research programme "Vista Pública" ("Public Hearing"), produced by Medina Media for Canal Sur within 2007 and 2008.
